Dhangaddhinga Concept

“A happy individual is vital to society. It is my dream that every child gets this happiness, And a happy adulthood is the outcome of a happy childhood.” With this objective, Dr. Aniruddha Dhairyadhar Joshi, lovingly called as Param Pujya Sadguru Shri Aniruddha Bapu, conceptualised ‘Dhangaddhinga’, a summer camp for children in the age group of 9 to 12 years.

In Marathi. ‘Dhangaddhinga’ means an activity under which children express and enjoy themselves freely.

To make this dream a reality, Nanda Aai [Dr.(Mrs.) Nanda Aniruddha Joshi], started this camp in the year 1998. Every year, about 100 children get a chance to attend this camp.

In today’s world, it is common to find a family where both spouses are working. The upbringing of children in such families comes with its own challenges. Children are subjected to tremendous pressure owing to the high expectations of parents. In order to compensate for the time that they do not get to spend with their children, parents enrol them in numerous classes, both academic and hobby classes. This results in stress for the children, leaving them with no time to play outdoor games and mix up with their friends. The true meaning of childhood is getting lost!

Dhangaddhinga Camp offers a fun-filled platform to the children where they get an opportunity to enjoy their childhood, shed their inhibitions and relieve their stress. They learn to share and care, respect other’s views and develop a sporting spirit.

Dhangaddhinga has been specifically designed to fuel the all-round development of children. Activities in the camp help children build their self-esteem and maintain their individuality. To stress upon the importance of the spiritual aspect, every class starts and ends with a prayer. Indoor and outdoor games are the core of the camp. Children also do various craft activities which help to enhance their fine motor skills and concentration. Children are also given an opportunity to showcase their own talent. Hygienically cooked, nutritious food is served daily, encouraging healthy food habits.

In sum, with the divine blessings and guidance of Aniruddha Bapu and Nanda Aai, Dhangaddhinga Camp brings about a metamorphosis of children into confident and happy individuals.
